Visit to the Mansion House
Fellow Phoenixes,
As I mentioned at our AGM, I have had various discussions with Charles Bowman about supporting him during his year in office. This is a theme that both he and we are very keen on, and Charles was keen to hold an event early in his mayoral year so that he could share with us his vision and strategy for the mayoralty and the City.
To this end, we agreed that a Phoenix Masters Tea at Mansion House would provide an opportunity for him to speak to us formally and then mingle and chat with us. As has already been advertised, this will take place on Wednesday 6 December, and in order to make this a more substantial outing we have also arranged a tour of Mansion House beforehand. If you have not already been on a tour of the House, there is a lot more to it than the Egyptian Room where the banquets are held, and the tour is most enjoyable.
The details of the visit are as follows:
Date Wednesday 6 December
Venue Mansion House, usual entrance
Arrival 15.00
Tour 15.15 to 16.00
Tea 16.00 to 17.00, in the Old Ballroom
Departure By 17.30 latest
The cost of the Tour and Tea will be £30, and whilst this is a social occasion we would like to offer Charles the opportunity to focus on getting his message across and so this event is open to members only without partners. The dress code will be business attire without badges.
I am keen to ensure that we have a very strong turnout and so would urge all members to attend. If you cannot come on the tour please do try and join us for the tea. Certainly, Charles is hopeful of seeing as many of us as possible.
Please send replies as soon as possible to our Events Secretary John Nugée on events@phoenixmasters.london. As on previous occasions, there is no need to send your £30 yet; we will collect that nearer the time.
