Dinner at Tucker’s Hall November 1st 2019
November 1 @ 18:00 - 23:00£70
As many of you will already be aware, we are arranging a dinner in the medieval Tuckers Hall in Exeter this autumn. The dinner will be on Friday 1 November and is open to all, with Firebird partners. You are now invited to apply for tickets.
Tuckers Hall is a charming hall, the home of the Incorporation of Weavers, Fullers and Shearmen of Exeter, and it dates from the 15th century. It is one of the most historic buildings in Exeter and survived the heavy bombing the city suffered in the 2nd World War. It is now one of the smallest livery halls in the country; places at the dinner are sure to be in high demand and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Dinner will be at 6.30 for 7.15 pm, and will be black tie with badges of past office, with Mark Snelling, Past Master Joiner and Ceiler in the chair. The ticket price is £105 per head. As usual, money will be collected nearer the time and there is no need to send it now.
Tuckers Hall is at 140 Fore Street, Exeter EX4 3AN, and we have arranged accommodation at the nearby Holiday Inn Express, Tudor Street, Exeter EX4 3FL at the very competitive rate of £70 per double room, which includes breakfast. The hotel is about 300 metres from the Hall.
The following morning there will be an opportunity to explore Exeter together, with its very fine Cathedral, and Nicholas Bull, Past Master Tallow Chandler has offered to lead a visit to Exeter University campus. Exeter University achieved full university status after the War and is now one of our most successful modern universities with a fine campus overlooking the city. We are also proposing to arrange lunch together for those that wish to stay for it.
